Lamich, Ondřej ; Soukupová, Jana (advisor) ; Šumpíková, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor thesis concentrates on the relationship between corruption rate and economic performance in a single economy. The main goal is to theoretically describe the term corruption itself ant to analyse its impact on the economic performance and effectivity. This thesis describes in the theoretical part the term corruption and its causes and consequences. In the practical part it concentrates on the correlation between corruption rate and basic economical indexes in the Czech Republic and chosen world economies, while the main question is, if higher corruption rate always necessarily leads to worse economic results and if corruption rate is one of the main causes, which differentiate developed and powerful economies from the others, or if its influence is insignificant. In the conclusion statistical methods are used to quantify the influence of corruption rate on economic performance.
